School Counseling Program
-
Classroom Lessons: The counseling curriculum focuses on Personal and Social Development, Career Development, and Academic Development. Lessons are centered around what students at their particular age/grade level can learn today to prepare them for their future in all three of these areas. Classes will see Ms. Panus on an alternating schedule for the whole class and small group.
-
Group Support: From time to time Ms. Panus will coordinate and facilitate group counseling to meet the needs of students. These groups can cover grief, parental separation, foster care/adoption, anxiety/stress, friendship, and many more. These groups take place during the school day and bring together students that would benefit from the support of each other in a safe environment. Parents will be notified for permission if their child is a good fit for any of the groups being held.
-
Individual Support: Students come to see Ms. Panus as needed for many different reasons by either student request, parent request, or teacher request. Ms. Panus can help students process through difficult transitions in their lives, identification of feelings, coping strategies, and goal setting.
